Program Evaluation

What is Program Evaluation and Applied Research?

Our program evaluation services provide organizations, community leaders, and coalitions an evidence-based strategy for planning, implementing, and measuring outcomes of their programs. Program evaluation early in development can include applied research and data collection about the needs of a specific community, models for change, and strategies for implementation. We also provide evaluation of existing programs to measure impact, report data, communicate findings, increase capacity, and scale and disseminate proven programs. We love to help organizations communicate the real impact of their work with funders and community partners.

What services do we provide?

Program development can include community and/or organizational needs assessments, interviewing and focus groups, literature reviews, logic model design, curriculum development, implementation strategy, and training.

Evaluations can be process and/or outcome oriented and include instrument design, quality assurance, and data collection, management, and analysis. We specialize in mixed-method evaluation that includes quantitative and qualitative data.

Successful implementation bridges great ideas and desired outcomes. The science of implementation includes developing capacity, operations manuals, trainings, fidelity checks, and culturally responsive models of change.

We specialize in helping you make sense of data and communicate your program’s impact. This often includes technical reports, executive summaries, and data visualization (e.g., presentations, infographics, social media posts).

Who do we work with in program development and evaluation?

We typically work with grant and publicly funded community organizations, leaders, and coalitions including national non-profits, school districts, and community-based organizations. Our expertise spans across social programs and includes positive youth development, mental and behavioral health, homelessness, education, mentoring, and diversity/equity/belonging/inclusion.

Testimonials

Dr. Hale was key to helping us create and launch Project Arrive, a nationally recognized school-based group mentoring initiative that has continued to grow and thrive for nearly a decade. Her keen ability to translate our District’s vision and goals into a highly engaging, cohesive and accessible operations manual has been absolutely critical to that success.
