About Lumen
Our Story
Drs. Scot Seitz and Katie Hale met in 2014 while pursuing their doctoral degrees in clinical and community psychology at Georgia State University. We quickly discovered a shared passion for understanding how people and communities build resilience in the face of struggle. Through collaboration on several projects, we became good friends and began dreaming about a dynamic company grounded in our shared values of connection, multiculturalism, equity, community, inclusion, balance, autonomy, wholeheartedness, and authenticity. As we gained the training and experience needed to translate lofty dreams into tangible skills and expertise, Lumen Guidance & Consultation, LLC took root.
At Lumen Guidance & Consultation, we understand the reciprocal impact that individuals have on their communities and vice versa. Our work lives at this intersection.
Our mission is three-fold:
Provide evidence-based and culturally informed psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in Georgia via telehealth
Deliver comprehensive program evaluations to organizations using context-specific and cutting edge methodologies
Consult with professionals and organizations regarding best practices, implementation science, and training
What Can We Do for You?
Programs and Organizations. We provide comprehensive program evaluations including needs assessment, logic models, multi-method data collection and analysis, data visualization, and reporting (technical reports, executive summaries, infographics, etc.) for your organization or program. We can also help you develop programs informed by research-based best practices.
Individuals and Families. Contact us to discuss beginning individual, couples, or family psychotherapy via telehealth. Our approach to therapy is integrative and evidence-based.
Professionals. We provide professional and clinical consultation services for you and your organization including psychoeducation, diversity/equity/inclusion training, continuing education, and advocacy.
